Ulster launches veteran discount program
Posted: Nov 9, 2010November 9, 2010 – Ulster is the latest Hudson Valley county to join the FAVOR (Find and Assist Veterans of Record) veterans’ discount program. County Executive Michael Hein said the county’s estimated 15,000 veterans deserve no less.

Posted: Sep 17, 2010September 17, 2010 – Senator Charles Schumer said the program also operated the Credit for Success program. “This originated in Ulster County with County Executive Mike Hein, and I helped set it up so it gets private money to businesses that in normal times would have no trouble getting a loan, but because of a recession, they are getting a loan and this is going to expand that,” he said.

Funded through a grant from the state Department of State Local Government Efficiency Program, the goals of the program were to identify beneficial ways in which intergovernmental collaboration would improve local government efficiency and save taxpayer dollars.
